Nice dinner at the Martini House last night. As wrong as it is, as I was paddling down Bronte Creek yesterday and seeing many ducks I did get to thinking that it's been a while since I've had duck so when I saw it on the menu it was a no-brainer. Cooked a perfect medium rare it was very tasty along with the sides of red wine cabbage, fondant potato and broccolini. I had an 8 oz glass of their Merlot from France which I liked. The cheapness in me still has me a little irked about paying $21 for a glass of wine for a smaller pour than I pour myself at home but I digress. My wife started with an espresso Martini which she liked and for dinner had their roast chicken which she said was cooked perfectly, served with potato puree (fancy word for mashed potatoes?), wild mushrooms and a cherry jus sauce. We ended up skipping dessert but I am regretting not trying there Bailey's creme brulee. Next time.
