Well supposedly it's Spring, but apparently no one has told the weatherman that so that made today a great day to try out the new Vietnamese place Pho Ahead. I went with their B1, Pho Dac Biet which comes with rice noodle, rare beef tenderloin, well done flank, tendon, beef ball and beef tripe. It was a very nice sized bowl, and was happy to see the side plate with sprouts, chili pepper, lime and Thai Basil. If you ever go to a Pho place and the essential herbs plate isn't served with it, walk out. You aren't getting the true experience. Anyways, nice flavors in the broth (which I added some hoisin sauce, sriracha, and their homemade chili sauce). Plenty of meat in the bowl. For those who haven't had tendon, it's a bit of an acquired taste as it does have an unusual almost rubbery texture. The tripe is pure gelatinous deliciousness though that melts in your mouth. I also saw a few people order their spring rolls which look really good and I will for sure have to try next time. Probably get the pork and spring roll vermicelli bowl that I confirmed comes with the same spring rolls. Good to have another Vietnamese option out there, with this one being a little lower price point than the others which is nice.
