My buddy was telling me about Istanbul Doner House the other night and it was on the way back so I figured we would check it out. He had mentioned getting something he referred to as almost a Turkish pizza (Lahmacun). With as hungry as I was I didn't really survey their extensive menu and went with that. It was good, but next time I would probably rather have it as an appetizer than an entire meal. As I write this and look at their menu I also see they have it Doner pizza for $2 less that looks amazing. I wonder if that's maybe what he was talking about. It got to be a bit much of the same thing after eating about half of it. I would like to try their mixed plates that are served in these long copper dishes served family style that look very good. One of my daughters just got a cheese pizza which she really liked and my other daughter got a Doner burger which she said was great. The little piece that I tried reminded me almost of a Mexican Torta. I will definitely have to go back and get one of those sometime as well. They also give you complimentary tea at the end which was a nice touch. Very friendly people working there. Check it out.
