Great All You Can Eat Sushi

Jeff Boyardee · 4/5

Visited July 5, 2024

Was going to go to August 8 tonight but they weren't answering their phone. Remembered I've been meaning to try Imi Sushi so finally did. I think this may be my new favorite AYCE place. Nice big pieces of nigiri and all (for the most part) very good. I tried a fair amount of non sushi items as well like the short rib, lamb skewers, sui mai both pork and beef, terryaki salmon belly and I think something else I'm forgetting. Liked them all. August 8 may have a bit better non sushi selection, and Fork and Spoon plus definitely does but overall Imi's was decent and I'm mainly there for the sushi anyway. The only misses were the tuna nigiri, which honestly looked pretty awful and my wife says was maybe the worst she's ever had, and then the Unagi where the first two pieces I was so happy because they may be the first place here, and definitely the first AYCE place here that they heated it up and it was so good, but then when I ordered another piece later it was cold. No one wants to eat cold and rubbery Unagi. Next time I'll just be sure and mention to them I want it warm. I should also mention the sake prices are reasonable. $10 for a large cold sake. Unfortunately they didn't have the unfiltered though. All in all I'm glad August 8 didn't answer because now I've got another solid AYCE place to add to the rotation.
